Leave Work at Work · a practical starting point
Give unfinished work a stopping point.
You may not finish everything today. A useful ending can make clear what happens next without keeping every loose end in your head.

Try this approach
Name what is actually unfinished
Choose the few items that need a return point. Separate urgent responsibilities from things that can reasonably wait.
Leave a next-action cue
Record where to resume and when you intend to return. Use a calendar or task list you already trust; avoid keeping a second competing system.
Make a realistic transition
Close the work materials you can safely close and choose a simple next activity. If you are on call or caring for someone, preserve the access you need.
The aim is a workable ending, not forcing yourself to stop thinking. Persistent distress or sleep difficulties may need professional support.
Practise, then test it in your day.
The four-week program lets you rehearse, keep a useful plan or script, and report whether it helped in real life. It does not promise a particular result. A difficult environment may need practical support or changes beyond an exercise.
